TMZ: Tom Brady’s teammates “feel betrayed” by Gisele’s critical comments

Yesterday, everybody was talking about Gisele Bundchen’s post-Super Bowl comments. To be fair to Gisele, it’s not like she spoke directly to a media outlet and publicly squawked about her husband’s teammates. But, it wasn’t like she was really trying to be gracious and hold her temper either. When she was heckled by some Giants fans, she was caught on camera telling a friend, “You have to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball… My husband can not f–king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.” Gisele to Patriots: EAT IT. Here’s the video:

So even though this video made me slightly sympathetic towards Gisele (I like how emotionally invested she is in Tom’s career), everyone was pretty much like “Gisele really shouldn’t have thrown Tom’s teammates under the bus like that.” And thus, a TMZ follow-up story is born:

Gisele Bundchen should have kept her perfectly-shaped mouth shut last night — this according to multiple sources inside the Patriots organization, who claim the supermodel violated a “code of brotherhood” by bashing Tom Brady’s receivers.

Sources tell TMZ, the teammates are “disappointed” Gisele decided to air her grievances after the game last night — when she said, “My husband cannot f***ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.”

According to sources, Tom’s teammates feel betrayed by Gisele’s behavior — the Pats organization is a brotherhood and Gisele’s pot shot violated the code — which is basically … win as a team, lose as a team.

As one source put it, “It’s like knocking someone when they are down.”

[From TMZ]

Thus far, the Patriots’ spokesperson hasn’t said anything (reporters note that the dude just shut his mouth and shook his head), but Pats defensive back James Ihedigbo told reporters, “You can’t point fingers at anybody. Wes made amazing plays all season. You win it as a team; you win it and lose it as a team. And we lost to a good football team.” So, what’s the verdict: is Gisele a total bitch for throwing Tom’s teammates under the bus, or are the Pats acting like big babies in the face of legit criticism?

Win as a team, lose as a team…the players HAVE to live my this rule because if you start blaming guys left and right every time a play didn’t work, you’re going to burn a lot of bridges very quickly. Pretty soon you’ll be labeled as a “problem” player, not a team player. Then no one wants to hire you/work with you. Gisele should have kept her horsey mouth shut and not taken the bait provided by a Giants fan. She should know better.

    • Mimi says:

Word. Way to make an already humiliating situation worse. If she loves and supports her husband so much, G needs to keep her opinions to herself. She might want to rethink her group email settings, too. 😉

    • k says:

Whatthehell..word. She spoke loudly enough for people to hear. And those people she was standing next…are the wives of other players. She’s an idiot.

      • ol cranky says:

agreed, she intentionally raised her voice when she made the comment

      • iseepinkelefants says:

I think she was just pissed and raised her voice because the hecklers made her more irritated. It didn’t even seem like she was aware of anyone else.

Usually I think Gisele is an annoying airhead who needs to take two doses of STFU, but in this case I feel for her. I guess if we were in her postion we’d be wanting to air our grievances too.

      • sandy says:

She was probably drunk off that liquid diet all the models seem to be on.

    • Asli says:

Agreed. Besides, they are both amazing teams or they wouldn’t be at the Superbowl to begin with.

    • originalone says:

An obvious case where money does not buy you class.

No matter where they both come from, Gisele is acting like a tacky tw-t, asking people to be all religious one day, and cussing them the next, like @DrM has stated yesterday, this does not make you classy, nor religious. Unfortunately, the camera and the money had made her think that her opinion is gospel. That is being high on power, not knowledge.

Listen honey, being classy is about being gracious, and showing your man you love him, is letting him speak in his lieu of career, because if he has gotten this far without you, it means that he knows what he’s doing, without your help.

      • Lucy says:

maybe it would have been nice for the “classy” Giants fan, not to yell nasty things at one of the team wives.

      • Capella says:

The fans are not the ones being paid millions of dollars for throwing a ball, they’re the ones who make being paid millions of dollars for throwing a ball possible.

She should think of her husband’s well being first if she loves him. Watching that video again, it struck me how she upped her tone when blaming the other players by insinuating that her husband cannot do everything, and how that was more self-serving than any “loving gesture” could be.

    • nan says:

Lots of phony apologies coming out of her publicist’s mouth soon.

    • LMS says:

Agreed. Her comments were very unsportsmanlike. As the wife of a team member, she represents him publicly and needs to show the same good sportsmanship he should show.

  2. Vanden says:

Never thought i’d say this…. but i feel bad for her. She clearly loves her husband and made a comment to her friend which has now been blown way out of proportion. It must be really awkward for Tom too

    • Marjalane says:

I agree. It’s unfortunate that her comments were on tape, but I just don’t think it’s that outragous for a wife to be defensive of her husband. There are plenty of things to dislike Giselle for, but this isn’t that big a deal to me.

    • SLM says:

I’m no fan of the Brady-Bundchens, or the Pats – but I understand how this happens. Games get emotional and I am very protective of my husband. My defensives would be down, and I’d likely say something that isn’t very well thought out, especially if being heckled. You want to lash out, because you know your man is going to be (even with his millions) angry or hurt or depressed. It wasn’t smart, or kind toward the rest of the team, but intelligence takes a back seat to emotion sometime.

      • Robin says:

Agreed. Finally a voice of intelligence. In the grand scheme of life, how important is this really? All stemming from a bunch of boys running back and forth with a ball. I love sports but in reality it’s that simple sheeple.

    • Str8Shooter says:

Blown out of proportion? How do you figure that? She was the one (and its been said many times on this thread) who intentionally RAISED her voice when she decided to trash her husband’s teammates.

If anyone blew anything out of proportion, it was Gisele and her stupid comments.

Yes, there was far more than one person to blame for the Pats loss. I don’t see the wives of the other players bad-mouthing any of the teammates for their mistakes.

Bitch should STFU and stick to catwalking.

      • Vanden says:

I said it was blown out of proportion because I didn’t think it was a massive deal. It was a silly thing to say but from what I read, she said it to a friend and it was overheard. I understand why the team is upset but it’s not like she said it in an interview with the press.

As for ‘many people on this thread’ talking about how she raised her voice. I was the second person to comment on this thread. So i obviously didn’t see comments people put in after while i was writing it. If that’s true she’s an idiot

    • Capella says:

@Vanden, no need to feel bad for her. She is feeling much better already after shopping her heart out, and now spending some quality 5-star well-deserved vacation with her husband in the sun.

We really do not need to feel bad for the likes of Gisele. She opens her mouth, states tacky and irresponsible information, and just moves on. We should move on too. As for Brady… I really wouldn’t want to be him next time he is training with his teammates.

      • Vanden says:

Lol so true! Literally by the time i finished typing it i stopped feeling bad for her. It’s lingering for Tom though. Gisele would be a much bigger help if she kept a lot of things to herself.

  3. ehs says:

Her husband has made millions for throwing a ball. She has made billions for looking fabulous in underwear. Does anyone really expect anything other than absurdity coming from the product of absurd societal values? You can quote all of her ridiculous comments over the years and use them as fuel for your little pissed-off fires, but really, we all made these monsters! I save my outrage for important things–like the fact that my cafeteria coffee cups leak at the seams 90% of the time. GODDAMN PAPER COFFEE CUP MAKERS!!!

    • someone says:

      hahahaha comment of the day!

    • Sam says:

Being a football player takes a lot of hard work. It really isn’t just “throwing a ball around”. Its something he has trained for all his life, and most people who play will never be good enough to be in the NFL. I hate it when people assume that its a simple job. It isn’t just throwing a ball. If you don’t understand the sport, don’t comment on it. And same with her modeling. Looking good in underwear means she probably worked her ass off. Looking so good in underwear that you are considered a top model probably means she worked her ass off and then some. I don’t like the ridiculous salaries they make any more than a lot of people, but its more complicated than the blanket insult. For the most part it takes LIFE LONG dedication to a trade to be where they are.

      • daisydoodle says:

I think the point she was making was these “celebrities” did not invent the cure for cancer…they probably worked hard to get where they are but cerebral isn’t a term I would use for Gisele. She needs to filter her thoughts and stop pissing Tom’s teammates and fans off.

      • jesse says:

No one’s saying that being an athlete is easy. I think the OP meant that in the grand scheme of things, making lots of money playing games for a living doesn’t contribute much to society as much as,say, a soldier, a scientist or a firefighter. Sports fans like us are to blame for that because we keep buying tickets, watching the games and buying merchandise. Unless we stop buying into that, pro athletes and the league will continue to be rich.

    • LadyT says:

Sorry Boo. Bring your own coffe cup to work. That will show those cheap bastards! LOL

      • ehs says:

I was a varsity rower in college in a top program, stroke seat. Now I’m a surgeon and work 100 hrs per week with 200K debt from college and med school. I have ZERO sympathy for how ‘hard’ pro-footballers and models have to work for their craft, Sam, but I appreciate Daisydoodle for understanding the intent of my post. And Lady T, I should TOTALLY bring my own coffee cup but I keep forgetting!

    • constance says:

I’m all for the “stash my mini keurig in a cupboard” wagon. Liberate yourself from the cheap office supply overlords! XD

I agree with Daisy & ehs. It is no surprise that people are listening to a very well known wife of the star QB’s every word. She is not new to that game.

      I think if she said,
“My husband is only one man, mierda! He’s not Peyton Manning.” People would have taken it better. lol Okay, maybe without that last part. (Poor Colts only 2 wins the whole season just b/c Peyton was gone. lol)

The point is, she knew better than to pull the “Omg it’s not my husband, it’s all them!” card in public. Pissed or not, don’t open your mouth and prove you are foolish. It was just a stupid fan. I hate to think what she says when someone tells her “you look a bit bloated today G.”

    • Mari says:

Get angry that people with hard difficult careers that require brains and hard work earn much less that sportsmen, models and celebrities. It’s an unfair thing, but the public pays and makes idols of them, the teams, etc.
Actually it is not their fault, but of a public that is not choosy or cultured. In their cases, at least they seem decent and more or less hones unlike some reality millionaire celebs.

    • olaf78 says:

EHs, I am actually replying to your later comment.

I don’t think it is true that I have zero sympathy for people like these, as I come to these sites and get involved in the things I read here. I do agree with you, in that I wont spend a lot of time thinking about Gisele and her unfortunate mouth.

But I think it is unfair to calibrate the worth of effort that these types of people put into their lives against the effort you put into yours and somehow find them lacking.

I understand that you work really hard (100hrs/week !!!), but as I see it this is the hardest period of your professional career and likely the least lucrative. It is the reverse for these people (though comparatively, I wish for the earning power of one of GB’s twilight years!). They’ll never be poor, but all they have left in many ways is legacy, and they are still in their mid thirties. I have a pang of pathos for that.

I don’t feel sorry for Gisele over this incident because this is a component of her job – just as I don’t feel sorry for you for having to work 100hrs, though I admire you for it.

      And she aint a Kuntrashian.

  4. Belle Epoch says:

Just read funny or die recap. Before Gisele, Brady won 3 Super Bowls. After Gisele, he lost 2. Then there was the thing about her not letting him cut his hair. His teammates probably aren’t feeling the love.

  5. mel2 says:

IDK about Gisele. Seems like she’s always blurting out things and then having to apologize but I will have to say in her native country of Brazil they really do take soccer (futbol) serious and players have lost their lives over losing a game. Poor TB.

    • Eve says:

I’m Brazilian and I live in Brazil. We do take football seriously (a way more than we should) but I don’t recall players being killed because they lost a match. Maybe in some obscure amateur league — and the reason would have more to do with violence in general (that is rampant in some cities here) rather than the result of a match.

      • Dawn says:

I think that is in Columbia maybe where a goalie(?) was killed by thugs for knocking the ball into his own goal, not Brazil. And again, this should be a none story.

      • Eve says:

        @ Dawn:

Yes, that was Andrés Escobar, a Colombian defender who was killed after Colombia lost to the US national team in 1994.

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9s_Escobar

That (players being killed after a bad result) may happen/have happened in Brazil too, but — as I said previously — that would be the result of violence in general here, not necessarily because of football (I mean, the same could happen during a fight in traffic). The way Mel2 said it feels like that happens often here — and it doesn’t. We do have a serious problem here regarding violence in football though, and that’s violence among the supporters (especially the organized ones, like in clubs/societies or something) in stadiums — many times the police can’t control it. But players are usually protected before, during and after the games.

    • constance says:

I do know that in America fans take “American Football” too seriously.

LSU vs Alabama (any year, any winning outcome) can and has resulted in fan v fan fatal violence.

      • rose says:

Sports culture in general is horrible. I like watching and playing sports but the emotional investment in it is disgusting sometimes (hockey riot in Vancouver, college football trying to protect a pedophile, fights between players and fans especially in basketball, etc).

  6. Lastword says:

    Yeah cos tmz is gospel..

  7. brin says:

How about both….Gisele is a total bitch and the Pats are acting like babies.

  8. Eve says:

What I don’t get is this: the whole team was there at the finals because ONLY Tom Brady played spectacularly during the whole season, but lost ONLY because of all the other players who didn’t “catch the ball” during this final match?

My verdict? Bitch. You can criticize without throwing everybody (except her husband) under the bus. And she may have thought she was defending him, but she probably made things uncomfortable for him in the locker room. If she doesn’t apologize, he will have to.

  9. Tapioca says:

Victoria Beckham and her husband have been on the receiving end of some truly horrible chants and catcalls throughout his soccer career, but I’ve never heard her publicly blame his teammates for a lost game, because it’s simply not the done thing!

But then again, I prefer to think this and the e-mail were all part of her masterplan to make SBXLVI all about Gisele – which she has – and she’s sitting at home in her mega-mansion on a pile of orphans’ skulls and money rubbing herself with press-cuttings & laughing like a drain…

    • Capella says:

Love your comment! Forgot about Victoria Beckham. Win or lose, she keeps it together, in the name of the family. Like I said, that Brazilian model is still too self-centered to care about anyone else.

  10. Bermuda Blues says:

Perhaps I am in the minority here, but I don’t think her comments were the least bit inappropriate. Every fan is entitled to an opinion. Fans invest their time and money with a team, and emotions can run high. Yes, it hurts to hear you played like crap, no matter whose mouth those words come from. Sure, coming from Gisele the offense is quadrupled because she’s the quarterbacks wife, she’s a supermodel, she’s a big deal. But what really hurts is that the team lost – and it MAY be the player’s fault. The fans are hurting, the players are hurting, and the team managers are going to take the off season to re-evaluate their roster, their playbook, and their team. Gisele put her two cents in. A lot of fans agree with her.

Gisele’s comments also must be taken in context – she was being heckled by rude fans. I’m sorry – I am a New Yorker, and I have to say, I’m ashamed of that behavior. Win with a little dignity. Nobody likes a spoilsport.

    • JulieM says:

I completely agree with you, BB. I’m a native New Yorker; NY fans can be a real piece of work.

And although I’m not crazy about Giselle, she had an honest, if a bit obnoxious, moment. I’m guessing that she may apologize in a few days. Nor maybe not!

I also think it’s cool how she’s so focused on her husband. I’m sure others will disagree.

    • The Original Mia says:

We are in the minority. I thought her comments were fine & blown out of proportion by the media. Good lord, it was lead stories on some NY-based shows.

If the situation was reversed and it had been the Giants with the dropped passes, the comments from the NY papers and regular fans would have been a lot worse & sprinkled with threats.

    • just me says:

I agree. I live in NYC but I`m a Patriots fan. Not easy. I like Gisele and she is a very supportive wife. Everything she said or wrote was PRIVATE and now it`s public business. She should have lowered her voice talking to the friend but she said the truth. The team lost but it was only her husband that was mentioned in the remark from the Giants fan… And people just won`t give her a break. I was sick to read today`s Post. Why can`t New Yorkers especially journalist just be happy for their team and stop going after her? I do think people are too harsh on her. And nobody seems to mind that her privacy was invaded over and over again.

    • ladyfoot says:

compared to boston sports fans, any fan from new york, even the most hysterical is still tame in my opinion.
also, comfort is for behind closed doors, and i think if the giants are supposed to win without any showing off the pats should also be expected to not be such a sourpuss about losing. MAN.UP. win like a champs and lose like a champ.

      • just me says:

None of the comments that are all over the Post and over the internet were meant to be public. But that doesn`t seem to bother anyone. Whatever she said she said it in private regardless of the location. Also it doesn`t seem to bother anyone that a Giants fan goes after a player`s wife. Classy! Of course her reaction is shocking and is all over the place.

      • Lucy says:

WTF are you talking about…when did the Patriots whine about losing… I have only heard the Pats saying what a great team the Giants are and that New York played great…and if you are talking about Giselle, she is NOT a Patriot and she wouldn’t have said anything if a loud mouth New York fan hadn’t been being a GIANT douche!!!

    • Bopa says:

Fans are entitled but not someone who is part of the organization. She may not be on the field but she’s a football wife which makes her privy to certain bits of inside info and special treatment. As part of the team you don’t blast the team publicly and especially not in front of cameras. Her comments can cause discord between the wives and even the players. With any comment people begin to think about what it means on a deeper level; is Brady complaining to her about the team at home. She’s not some random fan that the players wont see every Sunday and at team events.

      • Just me says:

You can twist it any way you want it. She is not part of the team and that Giants fan had no business going after her. What a ‘man’ that fan was going after a player’s wife. She is passionate who speaks her mind and now that’s news. Pathetic!

    • sk777 says:

i have to agree with you. I dont think she said anything with the intention of hurting others like that or how its being blown out of proportion. and i feel if someone is heckling her and telling her that her husband was the reason they lost then she can reply to them in any way she wants.
Why do we have these people (this bitch models underwear) on a pedastal like they are going to act amazing and be the most well mannered or behaved people? because they have money and fame?

    • olaf78 says:

re: every fan is entitled to their opinion.

I invest in a bank, can I deface the building that houses it?

No one, no matter the investment is entitled to uncivilised (the NY fans catcalling) or unsporting (Gisele) behaviour.

  11. Sue says:

Oh boo frickity whoo….. Get over it, you lost! I am sure Gisele is not the only person saying it…. She is just the only one who had a microphone shoved in her face! Move on.

    • Sue says:

Off subject.. Have you seen the pic of Beyonce on Radaronline.com? Tell me she had a baby a month ago. Uh-huh, yeah right…..

    • ehs says:

I’m born and bred Boston, we are (sadly) no better behaved than NY sports fans. Ever been to Fenway? Shocking!

  12. Kaboom says:

Feel betrayed? They are pro football players not a fricking kindergarten play group.

  13. Kristin says:

I can’t believe I’m going to defend Gisele, but here goes. She is obviously loyal to her husband and of course she’s not going to blame him for the loss (although he wasn’t exactly Tom Terrific during that game). That being said, these are *her* opinions, not Brady’s. Of course, she’s going to stick up for her husband. She made what she thought was a private comment to someone with her, not realizing it was going to be videotaped and sent out to the masses. Was it a crappy thing to say? Of course (this is Gisele, after all). But she didn’t intend for any of Tom’s teammates to hear it. And I’m sure her husband’s not too thrilled with her for that comment, either.

Also, this is kind of being blown way out of proportion. She’s a freaking model, not a sport commentator (although the commentators for NBC were so pro-Giants it was disgraceful).

    • RobN says:

She’s the wife of the quarterback. What you say as a spouse is a reflection on your husband. You don’t make a comment that Brady would never have made himself and you don’t insinuate yourself into the story. She clearly raised her voice to make sure everybody heard her so thinking that she thought it was a private comment is absurd.

Spouses like Gisele are why people get passed over for promotion in corporations and everybody says “hey, we like you, but your wife was a bitch at the christmas party and nobody wants her around”.

  14. Agnes says:

Totally uncalled-for comment. She should have saved it for her friends and family behind closed doors. I’m sure the players feel bad anyway, there’s no need to add to it. A team is a collective, win or lose. To single out someone like that breaks that unity and creates friction. She should shut her trap and gracefully accept the loss.

    • EntreprenrsWife says:

      I totally agree.

And did she already forget who scored 2 points for the OTHER team?

While I am a Brady fan, I think he made some really bad plays that were clearly his fault. GB should shut her yapper.

    • k says:

He threw some awful balls as well. His receivers had butterfigers but tom was off. Giselle is feeling the pressure of maybe being the curse.

  15. Katie says:

Am I the only one who thinks that Tom Brady looks like Gisele’s captive?

    • SG says:

Haha! I can’t tell if he always looks that way or if he really is in slight pain whenever they’re together.

      • Katie says:

There is one video clip in particular where she puts her hand on the back of his neck and his entire face changes in a split second. It’s so weird!

  16. Lucy says:

Uncalled for comment, what is her take on him literally throwing away two points earlier in the match from the end zone to the invisible receivers? She should learn to shut that gob and think before she opens that mile wide gob of hers. People in glass houses comes to mind

  17. Ms. Candy says:

They just mad cause she told the truth. She said what everyone was thinking the only thing is considering she was talking to a friend of hers, she may need to watch what she in public outing because of who she is and who she is married too.

Otherwise, if someone who was less known had made that comment the Pat’s wouldn’t have their undies in a bunch

  18. jasperkitty says:

I can’t watch the video from where I live (not avail. in my location)but I love american football and I watched the game. I probably would of done the same thing…I am not saying it was right. I guess she loves her husband…and at the time she was full of passion over the loss and the comment. Doesn’t make it right, but again, I probably would of said the same thing at that time.

  19. SG says:

Meh, I don’t know. Gisele can defend her husband all she wants. But the thing is, if I can hear her comments on tape, then that means everyone in that room did too and maybe she meant for others to hear her. I don’t think it was meant as a private statement. Private means whispering in someone’s ear when you’re surrounded, or waiting until everyone leaves. Not blurting it out where you know there are cameras.

If Gisele gets a break for being emotional after being heckled, the Pats should get a pass for responding (not publicly, mind you) to her bitching.

Damn, I don’t even watch football.

    • Lis says:

Agreed. As far as I’m concerned, you don’t get to mouth off unless you’re going to be the one who gets the pushback.

Brady is the one who’s going to bear the brunt of this, not Gisele. He’s basically her human shield.

If she had been filmed in a situation where she could reasonably have expected privacy, I’d have more sympathy.

But this was public, and there was an element of high school “Mean Girls” about it – saying it just loud enough for the intended parties to hear, but just distant enough so that you can whine about your privacy if you’re called out.

(On that note, does this make anyone else totally NOT miss high school?)

      • Eve says:

Totally agree with you two (SG and Lis).

But this was public, and there was an element of high school “Mean Girls” about it – saying it just loud enough for the intended parties to hear, but just distant enough so that you can whine about your privacy if you’re called out.

        That’s precisely what she did.

  20. ShazBot says:

“You can’t point fingers at anybody. Wes made amazing plays all season. You win it as a team; you win it and lose it as a team. And we lost to a good football team.”

HAHAHA that’s amazing! You can’t point fingers, but I’m going to name ONE person only in this. Poor Wes.

  21. Beatrice says:

Gisele is probably one of the most media-savy people around–do you really think that someone surrounded by paps, people with cameras, and news people all the time had no clue that her comments would be recorded? Maybe the Giants fans who were heckling her had no class, but she showed even less class by taking the bait, blaming the receivers, AND dropping the f bomb in the process.

    • Jen34 says:

Exactly. Gisele is not some country bumpkin who doesn’t realize that the Super Bowl is a freaking media circus. Do you think she’d loudly slag some other model backstage at a Victoria’s Secret show? Of course not because she’s aware of all the media.

She needs some lessons in sportsmanship.

  22. Cody says:

I guess every NFL football team has a wife who thinks and acts like she is a diva.

  23. celine says:

why is it that i find her so unattractive? wow i think i never saw her like that (no footbal-fan either).

  24. kay says:

    win together, lose together.

I wonder what she would think if someone said “they can’t catch the ball and throw it at the same time! I can’t believe he can’t throw the ball today” or some such nonsense.

  25. Shay Kay says:

This is not a woman I’d want watching my back under any circumstances. Now TB has to do the “Yeah she was just upset, she shouldn’t have said it…”
I can’t agree that her statements in any way show how much she loves her husband or wants to defend him. IMO she selfishly made her statement because it made her feel better (temporarily) and that doesn’t seem to indicate much sympathy/respect for her spouse that has to live with her statements. “Shutup and look pretty” would apply here but I’ve never thought she was pretty so ..just shutup.

    • Iggles says:

      I agree!

A woman should support her husband, but that’s not what motivated Giselle’s comments!

The video shows what an entitled narcissist looks like when things don’t go her (or his) way!

Brady is just as self-involved as she is — as his choice of spouse is a reflection on him.

Love the idea that Giselle is a “curse”! (as pointed out, he won 3 superbowls before GB; Lost 2 after 😆 )

  26. Francesca says:

What’ the deal. She was just defending her hubby. I would have behaved the same way. She just got carried away by the moment. It’s unfortunate they are making her the escape goat now. Her duty now is for her to forget what the media is calling her and for her to help her hubby get over the loss.

    • Jen34 says:

If your husband got passed over for a promotion, would you start complaining about it at the office Christmas party? Would you point out that he works so much harder than his co-workers who just make him look bad? I don’t think so. Basically, that is what Giselle did.

  27. chloe says:

I can’t believe I’m saying this being a die-hard Colts fan and I hate the Patriots, but she seemed to be the only player wife that was getting such hatred screamed at her, it was probably scary and frustrating. Should she have kept her mouth shut, yes, but in her defense she was talking in a group and someone had a really good microphone. That being said she needs a lesson in “Team” sports and biting her tongue.

    • jc126 says:

I don’t know how you guys have been able to stand the torture of not knowing who will be your QB next year!

  28. LadyT says:

Tom has been coming across as P wipped since he met her. He has his head so far up his but that he does not realise his wife has his balls in her purse.(Remember that horrible Justin Beiber hair style he wore)

And that E mail was the limit. Yes, God is going to stop and concentrate on Tom Brady when people in third world countries are dying of starvation, abuse, disease and natural disasters.

Gis should have waited until she was home before she trash talk the team.
Besides these two are so superficial it’s hard to have pity for them.

How long would it be before Gis run for the hills if he lost all his money.
And what if Gis was disfigured in a freak accident? Tommy boy would be on to the next model who stoked his ego.
Remeber what a jerk he was when bridget moynahan was pregnant with his child?

I can’t wait until these two get sick of one another and move on the next superficial spouse. I hope it gets ugly.

    • Iggles says:

Besides these two are so superficial it’s hard to have pity for them.

      ^^ This 100!!!

Looks and money is the “foundation” of their marriage. If either one was lost, the other spouse would be on to the next superficial partner that “has it all”!

    • marvelle says:

This is the funniest comment I’ve read Iggles, and probably very true. None the less she should not of said any-thing she made him look stupid and now he has to answer to the rest of the team the coaches and any -one else conecteed with the Patriots!!!!

  29. NinaG says:

I don’t believe for a second the team felt “betrayed” by her comments I’m sure they are use to Giselle making rather silly comments. I know I am since her comments about mother’s who don’t breast feed should be thrown in jail. I am not a football fan but I’m glad the NYGiants won, Brady has been favored for ever single play since day one, cheaters have to have their day too!

  30. hummm says:

Giselle, go back to bending your body and faking a sexy face; this is what you know.
Team sports or any other type of team activity are out of your competitive, self-center, hypocritical reach.

  31. Mac says:

Unfortunately from here on out Gisele will be the Patriots’ Yoko.

  32. lin234 says:

This is the first time I’ve heard her speak and she has such a man-voice. I think her best assets are her legs. She’s made an entire career out of them.

  33. boobear says:

tom was raised in a family with 3 older sisters. think he is used to have a woMAN boss him around and speak for him. His wife should have mentioned the fact that Tom scored 2 points 4 the Giants. She really is a plain looking woMAN without being made up and airbrushed. Still remember when she said that it should be a law that women be made to breast feed their babies. Does that mean if you’re unable to—you will go to jail. GO BACK TO BRAZIL

  34. Cleo says:

It is better or worse that this came out of the mouth of someone who looks the way Gisele Bundchen looks if you have eyes than if she looked like Rebecca Romaijn or Charlize Theron because seriously, Germans think way too highly of themselves and that doesn’t seem to have changed after multiple generations living in Brazil.

  35. Day says:

“So, what’s the verdict: is Gisele a total bitch for throwing Tom’s teammates under the bus, or are the Pats acting like big babies in the face of legit criticism?”

Ummm….Both. I like Gisele but she can be annoying at times. And, athletes are sensitive; their egos are huge yet fragile at the same time.

  36. mln76 says:

I think she’s just totally unsuited to be a football wife. She loves her husband sure but she’s a diva and used to getting everything she wants. Cameras or no cameras there is no excuse to bad mouth the team.

  37. Tiffany27 says:

Every time I think of Tom Brady and Gisele I think of that vulgar mansion they’re building in California. When your home is 22,000 square feet I really just can’t feel sorry for you.

  38. JustaGirl says:

If the comment had been made by any fan, it would have been ignored. The thing is Tom Brady is the quarterback. They are typically the leaders of the team and the morale builders for the team. They are the ones the teammates expect to look up to, and with that role, it’s one of the most recognized positions on the team. Given that, she should have kept quiet until she was in private. It’s hard to keep morale in a team when your wife has been making snide comments about your teammates.

It’ll eventually blow over though. Players themselves have said far worse in the past.

  39. toto says:

i think tom had complains about his team with Giselle in private and for many times before otherwise she would not have confidence nor the power to criticize others in their own games so loudly.
the way she handles him in public like mom and her kid

  40. jc126 says:

Neither option. She was having a private conversation with a friend. I say private things in conversation all the time I wouldn’t want particular people to hear. She’s getting unfairly treated.

  41. mel says:

I can’t stand her. She is so far up her own ass – ugh!

  42. Julie says:

I do understand that when you play for a team you don’t criticize your teammates when you lose. Not cool. Just like you don’t take all the credit when you when. So I think had she made this statement to the media, it would be horrible. She said it to a friend after being heckled and someone taped it. Different situation in my mind.

    • jc126 says:

Exactly. It was made to a friend. I think it’s so gross that people have NO privacy anymore.
Otherwise, I’d totally be slamming her for saying it, if it was in an interview.

      • YoYOBaby says:

Where do you get that she said in PRIVATE to a FRIEND?
1)There is about 10 people waiting with her in front of a elevator – that is not private – in looks to be a hallway coming in the Suite area of the stadium.
2)IF you actually watched the video she said it to the short woman with short hair were a blue blazer-WHO IS PART OF STADIUM STAFF AN USHER.
        3) She said it loudly enough that despite no BOOM above her and that her back was towards the camera – She still could be heard. Against all the background noise too.

She said it because she got emotional. Said it to no one in particular. Threw her back after she said and took a gulp of water.

This is the same woman preaching green technology. How you should cut back…
But at the same time drives Porsche SUV
Built a 30 room – 20 million mansion in LA because well, she a consume resources and electricity all she want, but you little peon need to cut back and Go Green.

Please I will take the class of Victoria Beckham any day.

Being heckled by GROWN MEN wah -wah, She is grown WOMAN. Not child. Not a victim.
Sporting Events are known to heckle everyone – the First Lady got heckled at one recently. Hillary Clinton when she Senator of NY got heckled in NYC during concert fotr 9/11. So because Giselle is a supermodel , she is exempt?

Maybe her husband shouldn’t thrown that INTERCEPTION? She should blamed the Giants on that one.
How dare you- Giants- catch my husband’s pass, it was not for you but the inferior tight ends and wide receivers he has to work with!

  43. Littledargling@gmail.com says:

She didn’t even say it really loudly. I mean, she said it obnoxiously, sure, and she said it angrily, but she was speaking the truth…the team fumbled the ball many times. That’s a fact.

I love how devoted she is to TB, how devoted they both are. I think she’s an honest person with good intentions who just seems to get thrown under the bus every time she talks. Sure, she throws her “opinion” out there that is often unwarranted, but I highly doubt she means harm.

Also, why isn’t anyone saying anything about the fact that she was BEING HECKLED BY GROWN MEN?!? No one deserves that, not like that. I would have yelled, thrown out insults and tried to go throw my water on them, so really, she handled herself well, in my book.

  44. aud says:

    She’s not “legit criticism”

Being married to a team member makes her part of the Patriots organization. She should be showing more respect to the other members.

Football is her husband’s life, as is the Patriots team. I wish she would consider that and speak her thoughts privately.

They wouldn’t have made it to the postseason without the team members she was bashing

  45. Leah says:

I think she said two things at once, in a way. She was expressing disbelief at their bad luck (like a fan) what with all the fumbling and dropping of the ball but also defending her husband at the same time, unfortunately, she it came across as being at the expense of his team mates. Because she was didn’t say, “I can’t believe ‘we’ dropped the ball,” instead it was “MY Husband can’t do this or that.”
I think monolinguals miss the nuance and of these things but multilinguists don’t. Also, I see Giselle as someone who learned English when she was older and this is still a case of it being her second language, plus heat of the moment thing.

I also believe this is sympotomatic of our society. We are bullies. What she said, right or wrong, is not the biggest thing in the world and from day one people have set out to make her an issue when while she may be a part of the team and league as a wife she isn’t the be all and end all. People were leaking her private emails, mocking her request to keep her husband in their prayers, her relationship with his son (her stepson) and Bridget, etc. They really have it out for her! And that “friend” she was talking to in the picture is another player’s wife, I saw her on the preshow!

    • Kim says:

Bagging on your husbands teammates isnt bullying of a sort? I think it is. It was classless on her part.

    • PleaseICU says:

And Giselle isn’t a type of bully or close to it? She may be the most lethal type of bully, next to the physically violent bully…She’s a passive aggressive bully. Only she has a much bigger public platform than the average person because of her celebrity.

Blaming the SB loss on her husband’s teammates. Publicly stating that she feels like she gave birth to Tom/Bridgett’s child? Publicly stating that she told their child to call her mom, without running it by his actual mother? Shaming all mothers except for her. Mothers who don’t breastfeed are bad mothers and belong in jail? Mothers who put sunscreen on their kids are horrible mothers…except for the ones who shell out to buy her sunscreen brand?

Those are all passive aggressive swipes and/or passive aggressive bullying statements aimed at others who don’t meet her standards of acceptable or who fail to behave/conform as she wants.

This wasn’t a language barrier thing. This was just more of Giselle being…Giselle.

  46. Tweakspotter says:

You know she’s not my favorite and I actually think she’s a bit overhyped BUT GOOD LORD can a girl have an oppinion?? Pats fans and players are being oversensitive. Who really cares what the wife of a player thinks? Remember when Kendra was crying all the way to her car for her husbands loss? I think the paps track them down just to get reactions. It’s just ridiculous!

    • Kim says:

A opinion is one thing, spewing obscenities and bagging on her husbands teammates is whole different thing.

Kendra crying was WAY different. Its ok for Giselle to be upset but Kendra didnt verbally attack her husbands teammates while using profanities.

There is no excuse for Giselles behavior.

  47. JudyJudyJudy says:

she did the same thing when Leo didnt win the Oscar. She is a passionate, loyal person…

    • YoYOBaby says:

No value class these days. Too many ill bred people in the world.

Her passion makes her look like a brat.

    • specs says:

Right. And Leo dumped her right after. Maybe he had the (right) impression that she tried to steal the show. Men don’t want their women to speak on their behalf when they are perfectly able to defend themselves.
TB is (or he’s supposed to be ) a leader. HE is the team’s spokeperson, he cannot accept to have his spouse blabbing about his team’s business, he cannot accept to look like a child who needs mom’s help.

  48. Adele says:

This woMAN is despised by everyone and I’m loving it!!! Suck it, Manselle!

  49. Blue says:

How does one have a private conversation, loudly, in public, in front of cameras? It wasn’t a private convo, she could have waited until they were in the car away from cameras she could have whispered. She knew exactly what she’s was doing.

  50. Jamie says:

Even as a New York Giants fan who hates the New England Patriots, Gisele really should have kept her mouth shut. Of course Giants fans were going to heckle her, but you don’t take the bait. You walk away, instead of playing right into their hands. You win as a team, you lose as a team. Pointing fingers at people doesn’t help the team get any better or improve upon what didn’t work, it hinders it. It’s an incredibly fast way to burn a lot of bridges and turn a team on each other, possibly resulting in the breakdown of teamwork which is incredibly essential in these competitive, contact sports. You have to be able to play as a team and if everyone starts blaming each other, it’s easy for that to break down.

  51. Kim says:

She was understandably upset BUT as someone in the limelight she should know better than to verbalize such mean thoughts. Her potty mouth was disgusting. Would she talk like that in front of her son?

I am sure she will, if she hasnt already, apologize to the teammates.

  52. Jezi says:

I didn’t read all the comments but just would like to say that Gisele was wrong. I don’t care if she was being heckled. She could’ve responded with a “f-ck you” and it would’ve been less obnoxious then what she said. She basically threw the team under and being a supportive wife would mean knowing when to bite your tongue because what she said made her and Tom look bad.

  53. hstl1 says:

Let’s get real..if Eli Manning’s budget wife (with a budget dye job to match) had said this, no one would have paid attention. Gisele is a target because she is beautiful and wealthy.

This is mean girl stuff at its best.

    Team Gisele!

  54. k says:

She may have been trying to show her loyalty to her husband, but she just put him in a very awkward position amongst his teammates.

I don’t think she gets the whole “teamwork” thing. While her comments may be true, she is acting like Teresa Kerry and Joe Biden — loyalists who are total foot-in-mouth liabilities to their “mates.”

  55. JudyJudyJudy says:

oh how do you know? bet his teammates get it.

  56. Heather says:

What I think is truly interesting is that no one is talking about the Giants winning, but everyone is talking about Gisele and Tom! It’s really funny when you think about it, because the media’s coverage of Gisele has completely overshadowed the Giants winning the SuperBowl. And it would be a tough argument to say that Gisele intended to do that…no way would anyone ever think that a comment to a companion would be front page news. I am with Lainey over at Lainey Gossip, yes I think Gisele should have not said anything to “blame” the other Pats players, but the way the media and commenters are blowing this out of proportion is a classic case of meangirl-ing the supermodel. Yes, she made a mistake, but for God’s sake, she doesn’t deserve to be crucified for it!

    • TheOriginalVictoria says:

I am a hardcore Gisele fan and she totally should have known better but she is only being maligned for the very reasons you said. I can understand her not being everyone’s cup of tea but if you didn’t like her already you’d hate her just for tying her shoes. People attacked her for privately asking for prayer for her husband as if she purposely wanted it public but had nothing bad to say about the person who breached her privacy. People are mad because she defended her husband AFTER being heckled but no one had anything to say about the “classy” scum that provoked her or the person who gave it to the press knowing what would happen.

I love the hypocrisy. Of all he things that could be offensive in her statements of the past, this is one time where I honestly don’t see how you could hate her for this one. She did the same with Leo, I think she is super passionate about those she loves.

    • The Original Mia says:

I love how the Giants are all but forgotten in the rush by the press & the blogs to bash Gisele. It’s utterly ridiculous.

  57. Britta says:

If I were in her shoes, I’d probably say the same thing. We all say irrational things when we’re worked up. To me, it makes her more human.

  58. the original bellaluna says:

There is a time and place for everything.

Right after a highly charged game, when cameras/recorders are present, when emotions are running high, is NOT the time to point out what the guys who were supposed to catch the ball are already painfully aware of.

Those guys are beating themselves up worse than anyone else.

    • JudyJudyJudy says:

exactly. and she has emotions like anyone else.

      • LittleMo says:

She can have the emotion but what she did with it was dead wrong – no way around it – she was DEAD WRONG!! She is not liked among other players’ wives and families because of her arrogance. This was not the place to air her “emotions.” No excuse for what she did. If she is going to play the blame game, then she should be prepared to take her share of the trouble her comments are going to cause in the locker room and for Tom with the team-mates she threw under the bus.

      • the original bellaluna says:

Yes. But one of the lessons supposedly learnt in childhood is not to be ruled by one’s emotions, as well as how to control them.

A little tact and decorum go a long way.

      • JudyJudyJudy says:

little mo m- she lives in the US and can say whatever she wants and people will listen to her and not to you or me. That’s the way fame goes.

    • JudyJudyJudy says:

“Yes. But one of the lessons supposedly learnt in childhood is not to be ruled by one’s emotions, as well as how to control them.

A little tact and decorum go a long way. ”

tell it to the guys who were yelling at her. *shrugs*

      • the original bellaluna says:

Not excusing them either; they shouldn’t have been heckling an opposing team-member’s spouse. Bad form.

But they aren’t the ones (with mikes and cameras trained on them) married to the QB for the team that just lost due to some man-down-level butterfingers.

      • JudyJudyJudy says:

I heard the guys yelling at her so they did indeed have mikes. And dont say they didnt know there was a camera there because they did. of course, the difference is people care what she says! What any one says here…not so much.

  59. CTgirl says:

Her comments are going to make for some pretty awkward team and team family gatherings 🙂

  60. Feebee says:

    1) She’s kind of right
    2) But totally inappropriate
    3) The NY fans were heckling her? What the hell was she doing slumming it with ordinary fans? That’ll teach her.

  61. bohemelilene says:

No wonder Leonardo Dicaprio rarely took her to red carpet events with him! She is so annoying.

  62. LittleMo says:

Gisele was dead wrong – period. She wasn’t talking to a friend, either. She was responding to Giants fans who were heckling her. While that wasn’t exactly kind, GB could have and should have spoken about her husband and let it stop right there. What has people so pisssed off is that the very first thing she did was blame someone else, i.e. the receivers. In other words, nothing that went wrong was Tom’s fault. Guess she forgot about the safety when Tommy Boy threw to nobody at mid field – or maybe Casper the Friendly Ghost was supposed to fly in on the stork and catch that one. Then there was the other Tom boner that lead to the touchdown. Nobody cares about the idea of GB speaking up for her husband, it’s the fact that there is no “I” or “you” in team – win as one or lose as one, but all for one and one for all – and she threw his team-mates under the bus to do that.

  63. Maya says:

I don’t understand the supermodel factor for this woman. Her face is so average. She has no shape, she is just super skinny.
She must have a good (ruthless) manager.
She really needs to think 100 times before she speaks – not just about football, about anything.

  64. Violet says:

What a dumb b*tch. I still remember her comment about how mothers who don’t breastfeed should go to jail.

Someone should explain the concept of teamwork to Gisele, because she obviously doesn’t have a clue.

And don’t even get me started on the chain letter she sent out. Talk about shallow and self-serving.

  65. Dana says:

Actually what the guy said to Gisele was the absolute truth. Eli lost a game to the Patriots in their undefeated season in ’07. Since then, Tom HAS been Eli’s bitch. My beef is that she said this shit surrounded by Patriots’ wives. She thinks she has seen heckling; wait until the twit steps foot in NYC.

  66. Katie says:

The question isn’t about the accuracy of her comments! She should know better. Celebrities have abandoned all decorum, and it makes even the highest paid of them seem like trashy low lifes. Giselle may be one of the highest paid models around, but she is no better than one of the Real Housewives.

  67. Francesca says:

She loves her husband. I am sure they were yelling crap like ‘s*ck my d*ck’ to her and more. You can only hear her defending his ability. Who cares?? and She’s Right!! He can’t do everything!; the way they focus on Brady, you would think he IS the only player out there.

  68. Dani says:

She is a spoiled brat and Lord help this woman if she has to face any real adversity in her life. You are a super model millionaire. Sorry, but hard to feel too sorry for you. Learn to hold your temper and don’t throw your husband’s team under the bus. Geez, he has to work w/those guys.

I gotta say, in that pic, Tom is prettier than her. She has a smokin’ bod though, I give her that.

  69. Moi says:

I’m with Gisele on this one. What else could she say? The super bowl was an anticlimatic joke this year. WTH?

  70. Catherine says:

What else would you expect from people who are totally self absorbed?

  71. Kosmos says:

Okay, I saw the video and I don’t find her comments to be either loud or offensive. She is entitled to speak freely just like anyone else. This is a football game, folks. Someone has to win and someone has to lose. Right, this is a team effort and if players make mistakes, this is what happens. Giselle spoke to a small group of people, so I really cannot find fault with this, sorry. When I first heard this, I thought it was something really big, really bad, but this is NOTHING! She has a right to her opinions.

  72. Isa says:

It’s possible to be a loving, supportive wife and not throw your husband’s team under the bus. Ugh. She’s disgusting.

  73. Sachi says:

Love all the “She’s disgusting” comments, but most people here don’t even mention the Giants hecklers in their arguments as to why Gisele was wrong in her comments.

If Gisele went straight to the cameras to proclaim her husband’s teammates sucked, then yes, she is wrong.

But she was being heckled by men, by other adults, who should have known well enough to leave someone alone instead of taunting and mocking them hoping to get a reaction. Some people are sore losers, but some people are ungraceful winners. Gisele was wrong, but she should never have been put in this position by other people. They did it to her because they could. They bullied her because they knew they could get a reaction from her. They did to her because they knew there were cameras. It’s just like paparazzi taunting other celebrities to get a reaction, catch it on camera, spread it on the media, and sue the celebrity.

Malicious intent is something that is lost on many people here who bash Gisele but not the people who actually provoked her anger.

I read many comments about how if this was a company party, a wife should not badmouth her husband’s co-workers and bosses out of nowhere. But Gisele didn’t badmouth anyone out of nowhere, it’s a different context. Her husband was insulted. She was emotional after the game, she felt provoked, so she fired back at the heckler. This doesn’t compare to a wife just bashing her husband’s company for no reason.

Gisele, I assume, must get a lot of these insults about herself, her family, her husband. You only have to look at the posts about her here on Celebitchy to see that many people don’t just dislike her, they also seem to have a deep-seated disdain and resentment for her whether it’s about Bridget, her past comments, her face, her hair, etc.

She may be rich, and she should learn how to deal with the heckling and taunting as Tom Brady’s wife and as a public figure, but she is bound to blow up one time.

This is also the only report of her responding like this to heckling, and I bet she gets worse than this on any given day she’s out and about. But this is the only time she’s been “caught” showing her anger.

Had she stayed quiet, I’m sure there would be criticisms, too, about how she’s not supporting her husband and how she doesn’t love him enough to defend him. She’ll always lose, because she’s now known as the “woman who has a trashy mouth” and everyone who has ‘marked’ her for it will always have a programmed negative response to whatever she does. She can donate all her money to charity and some people would still stay it’s not good enough, or that she’s only doing it for PR.

If it were the other wives who said what Gisele said, nobody would give a damn. They’re not famous enough to warrant such attention. But because it’s Gisele, her comments are taken so seriously.

The funny thing is, some people say she’s not smart enough and she should keep her mouth shut. But instead of ignoring her comments, everyone has a reaction to whatever she says. Most people would just brush her off as, “Oh, well, what does she really know?” but most people still take her words seriously because they’re invested in their negativity towards her. It’s like they’re just waiting for her to make another comment so they can say, “See, this is why I hate her. She’s an idiot. She’s insufferable. She’s vile. This is more proof I am right.”

The most amusing thing is, Gisele doesn’t seem apologetic at all. She has apologized once or twice, but for the most part, she just says whatever she thinks or feels. She is a bitch, yes. She is a diva, absolutely. And she embraces it. She just doesn’t give a f*ck what you or I think. She’s gonna continue making bank because outside of America, she sells like hotcakes, and the media will always keep her relevant for her comments alone.

It’s possible to be a loving, supportive wife and not throw your husband’s team under the bus. Ugh. She’s disgusting.
